About

Ruth Seebeck and pupsI love words and the power of words. For more than three decades, I have accumulated musings, journal notes, life skill solutions and spiritual insights. My computer is overflowing with words of wisdom, humor, joy, awakenings and – sometimes – sadness, hurt and outrage.

I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, mentor, coach, and Christian counselor. I’ve lost both parents and a younger brother. Along with my husband of 34 years, we’ve navigated teen years and marital issues. We have dealt with aging family members (still do, in fact).  I am a business woman, community volunteer, event organizer (from children’s birthday parties to county-wide events), and group facilitator.

Ed and I live in northwest Pennsylvania, with two sweet Japanese Chin pups, Rascal and Bojo (Bojangles), and a gray cat named Mokey. We have a grown daughter, Jennifer.

In total, it’s been a rich, fulfilling life, and I’m grateful for all I’ve learned. Now it’s time to share my experience with a wider audience. Thus, Seebeck Solutions was created so to help others navigate the issues and challenges of life.

I’ll look forward to chatting with you again soon. In the meantime, be a blessing … and don’t sweat the small stuff!

What I Believe …

I think the best way to explain this is to share with you a prayer I typed one morning several months ago.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You are. Thank You that you created me. Thank You that I am blessed to live in America, this nation of Your heart. Thank You for the gifts of Faith and Love. I cannot live without You. My entire existence is based, centered, established in my faith and trust in You, in Your goodness and mercy.

I may not even acknowledge it aloud, but every decision I make is based on that trust. Trust that You are leading me with the thoughts and ideas and revelations that appear in my mind. I believe by Faith that they come from Your Mind, Your wisdom, and that You give them to me in Love. I trust that the decisions I make are actually Your decisions given to me to follow. And I want to thank You for them. I believe that I am following Your plan for me and I trust You to guide me continually.

I trust Your mercy when I fail or falter. I trust Your Love to lead me back, to correct me and bring me into Your perfect path. I believe that my life unfolds in ways I cannot see that lead me to greater Blessing and abundance in all things. I believe that Life is journey, not destination, growth not arrival, unfolding not ending. And I believe that Your plan always expands; it does not shrink to compensate for our human perception of age.

Every action is faith, every breath is faith, all that I do, think, say, or am … is faith. I get up each morning by faith, trusting You to meet my every need for that day. Just living each day is an act of faith, Lord, trusting that You guide, guard and give me all things that I need or desire.

Every breath I breathe is Your gift to me. The wonder of my body was created by Your wisdom. Every thought idea comes from Your Mind. You give me sun and rain, nourishment and rest, seasons and time. They pour from Your infinite Love and Provision, Blessing Divine. Hot tea, hugs, friends, life work, leisure – all from Divine Love for me. Beaches were created for me!

You created me. You have given me a wonderful, blessed Life. You gave me desires and gifts. You lead me in Your path for my life. Whatever I do, I do in faith, trusting that You are the source of all things. The desire for Christ’s Chapel … and a new kitchen. The gift of design …. The ability to write, sharing my life experiences to bless others. The ministry of comfort, peace and beauty through WCMPark [a cemetery we manage].

Everything is YOU, Lord. You are my Dear Heavenly Father; El Elyon, the Most High God; El Shaddai, my Provider. TODAY, I live in Faith. TODAY, I walk in Love because I am in You and You are Love. TODAY is a Blessing from You. Shalom, salem. Peace, provision, prosperity. Nothing missing, nothing broken – only Faith, in Love. Amen. (1/1/2010)

How You Can Believe, Too …

Did you know that God is a Father? He has a family. The Bible tells us that those who believe are adopted into His family. That means that everything He has, everything Jesus has or has done is ours. In Romans 8:17, it says that we are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ … Can you imagine? All the joy, love, peace, grace, goodness, blessing, prosperity, healing and abundance of God are yours. All you have to do is join His family.

God has already decided.

Now, here’s the interesting part. Usually children have to wait for adults to decide to adopt them. BUT – God has already decided. He wants you. The Bible says “God is Love” (1 John 4:8, 16) And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love … In Revelation 3:20, Jesus told us, Here I am! I stand at the door, and knock. If anyone hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

Now it’s your turn.

God has given you the power to accept (or reject) His love. Your place in His family is not assured unless you ask Him, then believe and trust in His gift of salvation and grace. If you would like to assure your place in His family, forgiveness and eternal life, just follow these simple steps.

  • Ask for His forgiveness. Repent … that your sins may be wiped out and times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
  • Believe that by the grace of God you can be saved. For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Eph. 2:8)
  • Pray the prayer of faith. … if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom. 10:9)
  • Receive God’s free gift to you of forgiveness, eternal life and fellowship with Him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)

How does it work?

As you can tell from my prayer above, being a Christian means a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. That means you can talk to Him anytime, anywhere, about anything. That’s what prayer is: talking to God. As you progress in your faith, you will find that He also answers you if you listen. Often your answer comes as a quick thought that just ‘seems right’, based on what you know of God’s Word. It can feel like an intuition, a ‘knowing’. Sometimes His direction comes when a door in your pathway opens or closes. You may not understand why, you may wonder what to do next, but you can ALWAYS trust that He has your best interest at heart … His heart.

As His child, you can trust that God …

  • Guides your pathway – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path (Ps. 119:128)
  • Has a good plan for your life – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer. 29:11)
  • Ensures your victory – But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 15:57) for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (I John 5:4)
  • Strengthens you – …for the joy of the lord is your strength (Neh. 8:10)
  • Heals you inside and out – He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. (I Peter 2:24)
  • Blesses you – You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. (Deut. 28:6)
  • Gives you wisdom – It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (I Cor. 1:30)
  • Prospers you – But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. (Deut. 8:18)
  • Loves you – For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord. (Ps. 117:2)
  • Forgives you – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)
  • Gives you eternal Life – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesus (ch.1:2-8) is my prayer for you:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us … with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
