Learn to Live in God’s Heart of Love

When you remember that you are a unique and very important person created by a divine being we call God, and in “His” very image, then you relax, well knowing that your life is a divine plan, and your job is to surrender and allow. ~ Jacinta Mpalyenkana

Valentine’s Day notwithstanding, December is actually the Love Month. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son …

God’s love for us is so immense, so infinite, that the human mind cannot grasp all that His great love encompasses. Yet He is present for each of us in personal ways and with individual plans and gifts to bless our lives abundantly. How do you live in God’s great heart of love, surrounded by all His grace, mercy and peace?

Believe that God Is

The first step in living surrounded and aware of God’s great love is to know—really know—that He is. Some people don’t believe that, you know. Some would say there is nothing beyond our physical existence. Others say there might be a ‘higher power’ but he/she/it has no effect or influence on our lives.

Yet when Moses asked God what to say to the Israelites to explain his mission and why they should follow him, God said, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, ‘I AM hath sent me unto you.’” Who is that “I AM”?

  • I AM thy shield and thy exceeding great reward (Gen. 15:1)
  • I AM the Almighty God (Gen. 17:1)
  • I AM the God of Abraham … Fear not, for I AM with thee, and will bless thee … (Gen. 26:24)
  • I AM the LORD that healeth thee (Ex. 15:26)
  • I AM the LORD that maketh all things (Is. 44:24)

Isaiah wrote, “Fear not, for I AM with thee; be not dismayed, for I AM thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.” (v. 41:10)

Are you willing to believe in the power and the majesty and the love, mercy and grace of Almighty God?

Believe that He loves You

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God (I John 3:1).

God loves you! He calls you His child, His heir. He declared that He formed you from the womb and has good plans for your life. No matter what trials or calamities come, no matter what you’ve done (or not done), God still loves you. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us … (I John 4:10.

Some might say, “God couldn’t possibly love me after what I’ve done.” Others might scoff, declaring, “I don’t need God. I can take care of myself.” Yet we will all face challenging circumstances throughout our lives that are difficult or impossible to bear. God is waiting for us to acknowledge His presence so He can offer His love, comfort and wisdom.

The Bible, His Word to us, declares that in Him we live, and move and have our being and that we are rooted and grounded in Love. As you dwell on those thoughts, recognize and receive the flowing fullness and protection that being surrounded by Love, dwelling in Love, provides. To share the benefits of His kingdom—His love—you have to recognize your place as God’s own child, His chosen and well-loved child.

Dwell in His Love

Interesting word–dwell. It means to live and abide; to stay in a place. You don’t dwell in a hotel, that’s temporary. You need a permanent place for your physical being.

Apparently, you can also make your thoughts stay in one place. You won’t truly get a revelation of God’s love and mercy, grace and peace unless you make time with God a priority in your life. He who dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide in the shadow of the almighty (Ps. 91:1). That ‘secret place’ is LOVE. Then you’ll be able to say with the Psalmist, “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my strength. In Him [in LOVE] I put my trust.” (v.2)

To live in God’s heart of love means to purposely choose His Words, His ways and His plans. To know what those are will require your time and commitment to prayer, study and contemplation. As God told Joshua, This Book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

You can learn to dwell—to live in God, in LOVE, inside the flowing fullness and protection that being surrounded by Love provides. To be so totally surrounded by Love/God means that nothing can harm or hurt you, make you angry, frustrated or sad.

Claim His Love

Love totally excludes and prevents all un-lovely things/ words/thoughts/actions/results.    Conversely, as you radiate, emit, and exude Love; it just flows out of you without effort or resentment or ill effect.  To be so totally encompassed by Love leaves no room for anything else to either come into you or go out of you.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.  God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.      I John 4:16-17

God is Love.  He CAN’T tell you to do anything that will not ultimately bless your life. Don’t ever be afraid of losing anything by surrendering to the love of God. He has only good plans for your life!

If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on it, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commandments and live on in His love.  This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you (John 15:10 AMPC).

It’s like being in a cloud of joy/peace/wonder/Love.   That is the fullness of Love – its fullest expression is total Love.

Share His Love

Nothing in the kingdom of God will work on your behalf if you fail to develop your own love walk. The Apostle Paul called it the more excellent way (I Cor. 12:31). The next chapter details how Love works—and ends by saying, “Love never fails.” Why? Because God never fails!

God has called and equipped you to be an ‘excellent’ lover! Develop a lifestyle of love.  Love is the greatest of all God’s supernatural gifts made available to us.  The Bible even says that faith works by love. Prayers remain unanswered if you forget the essential truth that God is Love therefore you are Love.

We must represent Him (as Ambassadors of God in the earth) through our lifestyle by loving people as He does. Developing the love of God must be our number one objective.

Stay Rooted & Grounded in Love

God love you. Period. Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians and for you is to stay rooted and grounded in love … and filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:17, 19). As we end this Christmas season and face a New Year, make a quality decision to live, dwell and abide in God’s heart of Love.
