You are Already Blessed!

We learn to walk in the will of God when we learn to see the blessings God has given us and be more grateful. ~ Heather Bixler

You are already blessed! How do I know that? Because God said so. He has already blessed us [provided us] with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. When? “Before the foundation of the world!” Before Genesis, before you were created, He had already stockpiled every blessing and benefit He could provide for His children. He chose to do that, just as He chose you to be the recipient of His awesome goodness. Because God from the beginning chose you … (2 Thess. 2:13).

How do you comprehend all the goodness of God? When Moses asked to see God’s glory, God said, “I will make all my goodness pass before thee”. King David wrote, now, O Lord God, thou art that God, and Thy words be true, and Thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant (2 Sam. 7:28). Later, David confirmed that the people went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had showed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel His people. (v. 8:66).

God’s goodness represents all that He is and all that He does. That understanding enabled David to write, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.” God’s divine Goodness encompasses every blessing. The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD (Ps. 33:5).

What are the ‘spiritual blessings’ He gave you? Healing for one. There’s nobody sick in heaven! Jesus came to earth to demonstrate all the blessing God provides for His sons and daughters. Repeatedly, the New Testament confirms that Jesus ‘healed them all’. He restored lepers’ bodies to wholeness. He restored Lazarus’ body to life. He strengthened the lame, gave sight to the blind and restored mental health to those who were demented.

Then there are all those promises of prosperity. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work (2 Cor. 9:8). Did you get that? ALL grace, ALWAYS having, ALL sufficiency, ALL things! God is not stingy. He wants you to have it ALL.

His grace is sufficient.

“Therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace,” Paul told the Romans. Faith is the currency that brings our ‘all sufficiency’ from spiritual provision to physical fact.

  • For by grace you have been saved through faith … ~ Eph. 2:8
  • May the God of all grace … perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you ~ I Peter 5:10
  • But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ~ 2 Peter 3:18
  • Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need ~ Heb. 4:16

God wants you to ask for His help, but He also expects you to do your part.

You control the harvest.

If you need a lot of provision, you’ll need a lot of faith! How do you get more faith? Sow! Remember Jesus’ parable? The sower soweth the Word. … and received some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundredfold.

First of all, you must understand that faith comes by hearing. Imagine a burlap sack. Do you want just a few seeds in the bottom, or do you want seed stuffed full and spilling over the top? How much seed/faith you have is your choice. If you don’t have enough, go to work!

Sow the Word into your eyes and ears. Let it grow in your spirit. Spend time with God in study, thought and prayer. Listen for His wisdom to quicken in your spirit. Don’t be stingy. The more you make yourself available to Him, the more your faith—and therefore, your harvest—will grow.

As a farmer, you would go to the feed store and get the best seed available. You’d buy as much as you could, knowing the more seed your plant, the greater your harvest. The next step, however, is getting that seed into the ground. It’s a lot of work and takes a lot of time. Farmers are out in the field from sunup to sunset, planting for a crop that won’t come in for months.

God’s word is your Seed. It has within it the power to bring itself to pass, just like a natural seed has within it the ability to grow a corn stalk, a tomato plant or an apple tree.

The more you speak His Word, the more divine power you release for your harvest. But you must believe that your words—God’s Word spoken out of your mouth—have the power to change your circumstances. That is the essence of faith.

Jesus explained it another way: For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea,’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark. 11:23).

Fear not.

Small problems might be solved with thirty-fold faith. But the big stuff will require hundredfold faith. You’ll have to dig in, plant a lot of Word seed, and keep out the tares that could choke out your desired harvest.

Tares are the problems and situations Satan sets up to destroy your harvest. He tries to sidetrack you with fear, unforgiveness, anger, frustration, distraction, turmoil and busyness. He’ll set you up to get you upset. He’ll plant seeds of doubt and water them liberally with “you don’t deserve that” or “you’re not good enough”. He’ll remind you that you haven’t been going to church or tithing. He’ll do his best to talk you right out of your harvest. Don’t let him!

Stand firm.

The Bible has lots of instruction on what to do while you wait for the fulfillment of your prayers.

  • Cast down imaginations … those thoughts that try to waylay your faith
  • Cast all your care on Him … give God your problems and don’t take them back by worrying
  • Take the armor of God to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, keep standing!

Faith doesn’t waver, doesn’t tell time, and doesn’t watch for physical evidence. Faith IS the substance and evidence of the things you desire (Heb. 11:1). God has already given you everything you need to live a victorious life here on earth. If you can find a promise in His Word, you can be assured that He has already provided it for you. It is laid up and waiting. You are already blessed!
