The Key to Perpetual Opportunity

Belief in limitation is the one and only thing that causes limitation. You are subject to a law of boundless and perpetual opportunity, and you can enforce that law in your behalf just as widely as you need. ~ Robert Collier

Perpetual opportunity. Isn’t that what Jesus promised when He said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes!” Apparently, it’s the believing thing that we have to get good at because what we BELIEVE holds the key to the ‘all things’ we want in life.

Belief in limitation is the one and only thing that causes limitation.

Faith leaps in your spirit as you realize your problems don’t have to keep you trapped. The key to perpetual opportunity and the victory that overcomes every challenge is to change what you believe!

You know how it feels when something becomes revelation to you, not just knowledge. It’s the sublime ‘Aha!’ moment when you realize that your perceptions (beliefs) are inaccurate or downright deceptive. The interesting thing about revelation is that you can let it slip away again in the mundane, ‘just gotta get through it’ pressures of life. It’s easy to allow thoughts of limitation to ‘limit’ your thinking, your expectations and your opportunities.

Keep in mind that deception is Satan’s specialty … and he was working overtime in my life. I was struggling with some long-standing challenges, and my thoughts were spiraling in circles. “I can’t do this anymore,” my mind screamed. ”It will never go away.”

As you know, the more you meditate on those negative thoughts, like I was, the harder it is to overcome the depression that accompanies deception. In the middle of the mess, I had completely forgotten Jesus’ assurance that with God all things are possible (Matt. 19:26). There is absolutely no situation, problem or issue left out of ALL. Luke recorded that the things which are impossible with men are possible with God (v. 18:27).

Belief in limitation is the one and only thing that causes limitation.

Change your belief and you change the outcome. “I can’t” is only true in your mind. “It’s impossible” is a figment of your own imagination. “I’ll never have …” is only true because you believe it to be so. Consider, instead, the power of “what if”.

What if … what you believe really isn’t true?

What if … it isn’t true that you’re too tall or short, too young or old, too poor or uneducated?

What if … whatever you want is actually possible?

What if … you really CAN achieve any goal or desire?

Consider the promise of Psalm 37:4. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. To delight in the Lord, you must also delight in spending time with Him in prayer, study and contemplation of His Word. That Word is your covenant promise of all He desires to give you.

Some of the most powerful words in the Bible confirm that whatsoever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24). If your faith is limited, your results will be limited. And this is the victory that overcomes the world [and all its problems], even our faith! (I John 5:4). Great faith equals great victory and perpetual opportunity!

Belief in limitation is the one and only thing that causes limitation.

Of course, you’ve heard it before. You truly are capable of more than you know. You can do, have and be anything you CHOOSE. The problem is changing your own mindset to accept the limitless, perpetual opportunities available to you.

God and His plan for your life are never stagnant. As you move from grace to grace and into abundance beyond measure, your faith must grow accordingly. Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers (I John 1:2) You must stengthen your faith to receive all He desires to give you.

How do you do that? Here are five tips to help you change what you believe.

  1. When you become conscious that your thoughts are saying ‘you can’t’, cast down those imaginations. Bring your thinking in line with the truth of God’s Word. Say out loud, “That’s not true. That limitation is only in my mind. I can do all things through Christ [The Word] Who strengthens me”! Fight the good fight of faith.
  2. Imagine what you want as if it is already reality. Your imagination is powerful. As you create a new image in your conscious mind, your subconscious will begin to work on solutions to your imagined ‘reality’. Whatsoever things ye desire, believe that ye receive them and you shall have them!
  3. Speak what you want, not what you believe you can’t have, be or do. Call those things that be not as though they were. Stretch your faith. Positive words affirm that you are serious about your desires. Whosoever shall say … [and] shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says!
  4. Reinforce that new image. Write a word picture, create a story board or develop a mind map of what you desire. Be as specific as possible. As you define the details of your new ‘belief’, the power of faith energizes and activates all of heaven’s power to work on your behalf. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…
  5. Use the force of focus to change your belief in your ability to become. Target your desires. Used focused action to begin moving toward your goals. Focus is connected to faith. When your change your focus by imagining what is possible, you change your faith. When you change your faith (what you BELIEVE), you change the outcomes in your life. For God has not given us the spirit of fear [doubt and worry], but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Belief in limitation is the one and only thing that causes limitation.

Try it. Use the God-given capacity of your mind to override your (perceived) limitations. As you mediate on His Word and develop faith in His promises, solutions will begin to appear. Believe that you can have ALL that He has promised for you.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life! You will have perpetual opportunities and limitless power to show and share His divine mercy, grace and blessing.
