You’ve Been Made! Know Who You Are in Christ Jesus

Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all of our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped. ~ Charles Stanley

“You’ve been made!” If someone shouted that at you, you’d know instantly that you’d been found out. Whoever might be after you discovered who or where or what you are. Picture a TV show where someone is in hiding out and a buddy shows up to tell him, “You gotta get outta here. You’ve been made!”

Well, can I tell you, “You’ve been made!” But in this case, it’s you who needs to find out who and what and where you are because ‘you’ve been made’ in the image and likeness of Almighty God Himself.

Through no effort of your own, the Lord hath chosen you to be a peculiar people unto Himself above all the nations that are upon the earth (Deut. 14:2). Lest you think that only the Israelites were chosen for that particular honor, the Apostle Peter affirmed that ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people  (I Peter 2:9). In this case, peculiar means ‘belonging exclusively to’. God was not calling you an odd-ball; He was calling you His own.

Made means you were ‘formed in a particular place or by a particular process, prepared, produced, or put together’. It also means ‘assured of success or fortune’, such as, “You’ve got it made.”  Let’s look at all the benefits of your peculiar position in Christ.

Made in His Image: And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness (Gen. 1:26). For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor (Ps. 8:5). Know ye that the Lord, He is God; it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves (Ps. 100:3). Think about it: you are Jesus’ twin, made in the spittin’ image of God Himself! He created you and empowered you to reign over your own circumstances just like He did—with the Word spoken in faith.

Made fruitful: And I will make thee exceeding fruitful (Gen. 17:6). When God said, ‘Light be’, suddenly the darkness on the face of the deep was bright with light. So when He said, ‘be fruitful’, the power and authority for blessing and abundance was released. If you’re not seeing it, then you’re not saying with consistency what God spoke for your life.

Made Safe: I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for Thou Lord only makest me dwell in safety (Ps. 4:8). He maketh me to like down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters (Ps. 23:2) God promised you peace and safety. The 91st Psalm confirms every promise of protection you could ever need. Claim your rights and protection as a citizen of the Kingdom of God every day.

Made Bountiful: They shall be abundantly satisfied with the bounty of Thy house, and Thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures (Ps. 36:8). Second Corinthians says you are enriched in everything to ALL bountifulness (v. 9:11)! Whatever you need, God has already provided in abundance.

Made Wise: … Thou shalt make me to know wisdom (Ps. 51:6). Paul told the Philippians, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Receiving the Blessing of God is a choice you make by accepting as Truth what the Bible says about you, including His promise of wisdom and understanding. The answers to all your problems are inside you because you have the wisdom of God inside you.

Made Blessed: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us … that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith (Gal. 3:13-14). Jesus was ‘made’ a curse so that you could be raised up and made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:6). God made you to be Blessed!

Made Free: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Gal. 5:1). And ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free (John 8:32). For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (Rom. 8:2). Through faith, you’ve been made free from every evil thing the devil can throw at you.

Made Accepted: to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in His Beloved (Eph. 1:6) God is not mad at you or wanting to punish you for any reason. He is Love, and He accepts you as His precious, peculiar child. Step out in faith and believe that about yourself without doubt. Accept God’s promises for your life and don’t let anyone or anything convince you otherwise.

Made Rich: The blessings of the Lord maketh rich, and He adds no sorrow with it (Prov. 10:22). God is the Source of all supply. Your job or investments are just channels for God’s Blessing. It is in His Hand to supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19). Believe it, speak it. God said ‘be fruitful’. He giveth [you] richly all things to enjoy (I Tim. 6:17). That should make you grin!

Made Righteous: For He hath made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:11) … so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous (Rom. 5:19). Righteous doesn’t mean you do everything perfectly. Abraham believed and God accounted it to him for righteousness (Gen. 15:6). As a born-again child of God, He declared you righteous!

Made Whole: And as many as touched [Him] were made perfectly whole (Matt. 14;36). Healing and restoration are God’s will. “I am the Lord that healeth thee!”, He declared. I Peter 2:24 very clearly declares that by [Jesus’] stripes ye were healed—past tense, already done! Jesus made you whole and well.

Let’s look at a few more.

  • Made Alive: For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive; (I Cor. 15:22)
  • Made Christ’s: But because of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption (I Cor. 1:30)
  • Made Strong: And His Name, through faith in His name, hath made this man strong (Act 3:16). Out of weakness they were made strong… (Heb. 11:34).
  • Made Perfect: I in them and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one [body], and that the world may know that Thou hast … loved them, as Thou hast loved Me (John 17:33).

You’ve been MADE—‘found out’ to be God’s own peculiar treasure (Ex. 19:5). For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet (Ps 8:5-6).

Knowing who you really are in Christ Jesus will surely make you want to shout: I will praise Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:14). You’ve been MADE!
