Resurrection Power: How to Release it into Your Life

The resurrection gives my life meaning and direction and the opportunity to start over no matter what my circumstances. ~Robert Flatt

Easter. We know it as the resurrection of Jesus – that which was dead and gone and mourned … returned to unexpected, glorious Life! Easter is Hope eternal, a lesson so powerful, it is difficult to grasp. With Jesus’ resurrection, God proved that nothing – NO thing – is lost forever … that our hopes and dreams are still available. All that is required to resurrect those dreams is consistent faith to believe them possible.

Jesus taught that we need faith like a grain of mustard seed. Seed needs to be planted and nurtured [watered with The Word and faith, weeding out doubt, fear and unbelief], so that we speak words of faith. He said if we do that “nothing shall be impossible to you” (Matt. 17:20). We build that strong faith by spending consistent time in The Word, meditating on and speaking His Words of power.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth … (Col. 1:15-16a) We should be ever conscious that Jesus, once embodied as a physical person, IS The Word. He was present in Genesis when God spoke all things into being … when He spoke you into being! The prophecy (spoken word) of His coming started in Genesis and continued throughout the Old Testament until the word became flesh (John 1:14). Every time you read The Word, meditate on it, or speak it over your situations, you are spending time with Jesus Himself! How’s that for powerful?

Although the concept of Trinity is complicated for the human mind to understand, faith allows us to accept Father/Son/Holy Spirit as a tri-part being, just as we are a tri-part being: Spirit/soul/body, created in His image to speak His Word and get His results.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore … (Matt. 28:18-19a) Jesus delegated His power to us! How’s that for amazing? He gave us His power of attorney to speak His words, act in His name and get His results! We can speak resurrection power over our lives and situations, declaring what God has already spoken. And we can expect that Word to produce exactly what God said it would.

Jesus told us that we would do greater works than He did (John 14:22). It’s also interesting to note that even Jesus could “do no mighty works because of their unbelief”. Not His – theirs. Strong faith is the key to victory. It requires a commitment of time, effort and study. Jesus often went into the wilderness – away from the distractions and problems of the world – to meditate and pray, to strengthen His spirit by communing with Divine Spirit.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed! (John 8:36)  We are NOT captives in the world’s mess.  We are citizens of God’s Kingdom, fully blessed, fully supplied, fully healed. Halleluiah! Consider these promises:

God delivers us and honors us (Ps. 91) because of Jesus!

He crowned us with riches and honor (Ps. 8:5) – because of Jesus.

He blesses us with favor, mercy and increase (Ps. 67) – because of Jesus.

He loads us with benefits (Ps. 68:19) – because of Jesus!

He gives us power to get wealth (Deut. 8:18) – because of Jesus.

God gives us wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:7) – because of Jesus.

He gives us strength and power (Ps. 68:35) – because of Jesus.

Everything we have is because of what Jesus did.

BUT – Jesus did what He did – because of us – me and you!

God loves you as much as He loves Jesus! You ARE blessed!

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Rom. 8:32) On Resurrection morning, Jesus went from being called only to firstborn … so that we – you and me – could become nextborn (Rom. 8:29). Through Christ, we have been adopted into the family of God (Rom. 8:15). That means we can use our faith to tap the resources of Heaven, not earth, to meet our needs.  God, the Father, takes care of His kids.  And you’re His favorite child! Now, that’s something to sing “A-le-lu-iah” about!
