How to Conquer Fear – 4 Steps to Confident Faith & Victory over Anxiety and Stress

The components of anxiety, stress, fear and anger do not exist independently of you in the world. They simply do not exist in the physical world, even though we talk about them as if they do. ~ Wayne Dyer

Are you ever afraid or anxious, convinced that some dire circumstance will doom your life?

Has your situation changed for the negative, and you don’t know how to get out of the doldrums?

Or, you’re just plain stressed out!

Perhaps you’ve been given some disastrous news, and your thoughts just keeps circling the problem like mental vultures. If you don’t shot them down, they will devour your joy and peace.

You know what it feels like. Your life is comfortable and peaceful, going just the way you want; then it happens. Perhaps your IT is an illness. Maybe you’ve lost your job. Or your finances are in such a mess that you can’t seem to think about anything else.

Remember that fear is emotion, not reality. It is triggered by the devil in an effort to get you away from the power and promises of faith. It is mental poison, but there is an antidote. The Truth for any situation is found in God’s Word. His Word is more powerful than any circumstance. It is ‘seed’ and it needs to be sown into your consciousness until you see your harvest!

Spend time in The Word.

The only thing that can block the Blessing for a child of God is fear. No matter what it looks like, no matter what it feels like, place your trust in The Word. The Word IS Jesus; and He [The Word] is anointed and appointed to create whatever you need. The Word carries the same anointing as Jesus!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. All things were made by him; and without him [The Word] was not anything made that was made. ~ John 1:1, 3

It doesn’t matter what you need, there are Bible verses that address your issue. Find them. Focus on them until the power in the Word overcomes your emotions and your circumstances! You don’t need anything else, just The Word.

Spend time in praise and gratitude.

Thank God in advance for His direction, for showing you His wisdom and His plan.

For I know the plans that I think toward you, saith the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to bring you to an expected end. ~ Jer. 29:11

For then thou shalt lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be steadfast, and shall not fear. ~ Job 11:15

Speak your praises out loud, while you’re driving or walking or alone at home. Speak them quietly to yourself whenever you think of your situation. The more you praise and thank God [faith], the sooner you will draw exactly what you need from Spiritual supply to material possession.

Make joy and patience your constant companions.

You can replace negative emotions on purpose. Tell yourself, “I will not give in to fear. I will rejoice and be glad.” The Bible says that joy is your strength (Neh. 8:10). Build your joy-muscles!

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. ~ James 1:4

Do you remember the story of Job? ‘Lo, the thing I feared the most has come upon me’, he said. Why is that? Because thoughts and words have power! If you give negative, fear-filled words place in your thinking and speech, you actually draw those negatives toward you. The Word clearly says that we should give no place to the devil [or his words] (Eph. 4:27).

Fear is a bully. If you cower and cry, it gets bigger. Instead, laugh in the devil’s face and tell him, “Ha, ha, ha. You can’t hurt me. I’m God’s kid.” Sing “Jesus Loves Me” until you can’t help but grin. Let joy and patience do their work.

Get in Agreement.

This has two parts. First, find someone – a spouse or prayer partner – who will agree with you for manifestation of the promise. Agreement is powerful because it strengthens and increases your result. In God’s math, one plus one isn’t just two, it’s multiplied impact and overflowing harvest.

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. ~ Matt. 18:29  Do you believe that?

Second, keep strife, anger, bitterness and envy out of your relationships. They are directly connected to fear and defeat. Instead, cast down imaginations. Take control of your thoughts and you can control your destiny.

If you’ll sow Word seed, be thankful, expecting your harvest, and stay joyful and patient, then ‘nothing – no thing – can by any means hurt you’. (Luke 10:19)  You’ll have the confidence, faith and expectation to defeat every fear and walk in victory.
