The Love Faith Connection

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, as offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. ~ Eph. 5:1-2

Here we are at the (almost) end of April. It seems that time just flies by!

Wednesday was Administrative Professionals Day, so I grabbed my assistant and a few friends and went for lunch. How fun!

In January I called 2012 the year of your Blessing. It started ‘in the beginning’. And God blessed them [by saying] Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth and subdue it, and have dominion … (Gen. 1:28).

God demonstrated its power with Noah, Abraham, David, the widow with her pots of oil – and many others. Then He sent Jesus to forever establish its power for every believer, not just the Israelites.

If you’re a believer, and I assume you are if you’re reading this blog, then you know your God-ordained covenant includes every spiritual and material blessing you could ever need. And every blog so far this year was written to help you understand and tap into the power of The Blessing.

So, what do we know already?

  • The Blessing is activated by faith.
  • Faith works by love.
  • Both require action to be effective.
  • Patience and unwavering hope bridge the gap between believing and receiving.
  • Fear, doubt and worry dilute or block The Blessing’s effectiveness in your life.

Since faith works by love (Gal 5:6), if you strengthen your love walk, you also empower your faith.

Love is not ooey-gooey feelings. It is spiritual power that you can tap into for those times when your feelings run contrary to love. A simple “God help me!” can be enough to refocus your thinking. Prayer acknowledges God and invites Him to get involved in the situation. Feelings follow thoughts (not the other way around), so make a conscious decision to think differently about the person (people!) who challenge your love walk. Find something – anything! – positive in the situation and hang on to that.

Be fruitful and multiply!

Be loving and joyful.
