Find Simplicity in the Midst of Challenges

If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, or if your house is on fire, then you’ve got a problem. Everything else is inconvenience. ~ Robert Fulghum

Let’s talk.

Sometimes life comes at you so hard,it seems impossible to cope.

  • A spouse who says, “I want a divorce.”
  • The death of a loved one
  • Downsizing or job insecurity
  • Personal illness or caregiver duties
  • Debt and financial challenges
  • Other overwhelming responsibilities

I’m quite sure you’ve experienced at least one of these – I know I have survived most of them. All of a sudden, your life needs to be redefined, restructured … simplified.

How can you cope?

Having spent almost two months away from home as caregiver for an elderly relative, I’m ready to let go of all the stresses and responsibilities and get back to … simplicity.

Simple doesn’t mean lacking. It ‘simply’ means  (no pun intended) letting go of those things – mental, physical and emotional – that do not contribute positively to your life. Simple can be synonymous with a quality-enhanced lifestyle.

If your life feels overwhelming or out of control, take heart. You can make the changes necessary to regain your peace of mind.

I believe in you. I know you can find your own simple path and lifestyle. Just stick with it, and make the changes you know you need to make. Watch for the next post for “7 Simple Tips for a Simple Life.”
