Monday Musings: Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda – Change Regret into Action

Do you ever waste energy on the “what if’s” of your life? I catch myself doing it too often.

Things I should have said but didn’t. Things I should NOT have said but did.  Things I shoulda, woulda, coulda done. What if …?

 Both my parents are gone, dad decades ago, mom … gosh, it’s been eight years. Both died too young. And I don’t think I told them often enough how much I appreciated them. Shoulda done that.

 An aunt and uncle with no children of their own. Coulda found more time to visit, chat, send a card.

Dear friends that I don’t see often enough. Woulda kept in touch, but …

And that organization I was going to volunteer for. Geez, where did the time go?

 Today’s I offer you a ‘what if’. What if you don’t take the time now to do those things that are really important – that we allow to get crowded out by LIFE.  Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

 Hope you will find the time and motivation to do the shoulda, woulda, coulda’s in your life. Pick up the phone. Send a card. Make a date. Nothing is more important that your relationships. The people around you. Those you can bless. Don’t wait until your only option is regret, guilt or grief.  Change your shoulda, woulda, couldas into ‘did its’. Before it’s’ too late …
