Faith or Fear: Three Keys to Fight Fear, Find Faith and Live in Victory.

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.  ~  Eleanor Roosevelt

Let me ask you a question. Can you go north and south at the same time? Not possible, is it?

Well, it’s the same with faith and fear. Fear automatically cancels faith. … They just aren’t going in the same direction.

You see, life is all about choices. Do you want steak or chicken, paper or plastic, regular or supersize? Fear or faith?

Are you calling yourself a klutz?

Telling yourself, “I’ll probably catch the flu?”

Does your mind tell you that you’re not good enough to have _____?

So, if you’re wishing and hoping for something better in your life, you have to get past the fear, anxiety, dread, unforgiveness and doubt that block your faith. They aren’t going in the direction you want to go!

How do you do that? Well –good news! I’m going to share three keys to help you.

Choose your thoughts. “I can’t,” you say! … Yes, you can.

Become conscious of the words that play in your head … your mind chatter. As soon as you notice the negatives, tell yourself, “No, I won’t listen to that. I am _____ [insert the positive thing you’d like to have]. God promised it to me, and I claim it!”

Change ‘I can’t’ into ‘I can’ as many times as you need to throughout each day. Eventually, your subconscious will learn that you want to ‘hear’ a different program, that you are expecting a different result.

Choose your words. Be very careful what you are saying to the world.

Those thoughts in your head often become verbal – and words spoken have even more power to set your path than the ones in your head. For instance, you can’t pray for prosperity; then tell your spouse, neighbor or friend, “I just can’t seem to get ahead.” They just aren’t going in the same direction!

Choose your actions. Add the power of commitment and action to your words, thoughts and prayers.

Consistency will get results faster than a see-saw attitude. Let your actions back up your dreams and goals. Action adds power. It’s the fuel for your faith.

Going from faith to fear, back and forth, is like driving up and down your driveway. You just never get anywhere!  The Bible tells us, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). Later in that same book (3:11), he asks, “Does a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”

I read somewhere that it takes five positives to cancel a negative. So, when you hear yourself ‘going in the wrong direction’, turn around. Find God’s promises for you in His Word. Undo those negatives with faith-filled words and actions that support your dreams and desires.

Stay on the super-highway of faith. Decide what matters most, then keep your words and actions consistent with your dreams. Choose to live on purpose until you experience your victory!
